DUNBAR CLASSIC

Location: Vancouver, BC

When we took on this project, the original floor plan presented some challenges. The space felt dark and heavy, lacking in natural light and openness. Clear sightlines of the children were also limited due to compartmentalized spaces. However, we transformed the space by removing a major wall between the kitchen and dining room, allowing for a bright and sun-filled area that perfectly suits this active family of six. We added a spacious kitchen island, providing ample room for cooking, storage, and seating. It also serves as an ideal spot for family gatherings and entertaining. Storage was a top priority, so we incorporated a combination of open and closed storage solutions throughout, ideal for concealing crafts and toys. Inspired by the stunning Sunshine Coast, the materials, furniture, and artwork were carefully selected to reflect the colours and tranquility of the beautiful landscape.
