We took an old-fashioned duplex and turned it into a stylish, modern farmhouse haven tailored for a young, travel-loving couple. The once gloomy and disconnected areas now brim with light and openness, making you feel right at home. A touch of Mexico, with woven accents and cheerful artwork, adds a playful and friendly vibe that matches the couple's adventurous spirit perfectly. The original space lacked light and felt heavy, so we focused on bringing in light neutral finishes and layering them with various textures. We extended the kitchen cabinets into the dining room, creating a beautiful display and bar area complete with a built-in wine fridge – perfect for hosting fabulous get-togethers. The original primary bedroom had a small Juliet balcony, but it felt closed off from the double height living room. We removed the wall, replacing it with a stylish metal and glass railing to create an open and bright space. For added privacy, we added blackout drapes that bring a touch of elegance while keeping the room darkened when desired.
